Fifth Grade Goes to Philadelphia
September 22, 2008

The weather was perfect for a tour of Philadelphia. The fifth grade class spent  the day Monday on a field trip to learn about our country's early years. Fifth grade teacher Mrs. Schenkel describes their day:  " We went first to the Franklin Institute where we had reserved the Pirates Exhibit and the Imax movie, Wild Oceans.  The students also had an opportunity to climb through the heart, tour the flight exhibit, electricity, and the sports room.  Next stop was historic Phila. where the students were given the history of the Liberty Bell by a park ranger and had an opportunity to take a close-up picture of the Bell.  We then went to Independence Hall for a guided tour, and then a tour of Congress.   We stopped by Ben Franklin's grave en route to our buses."
